This Privacy Policy explains how the NMA Punjab (Nasha Mukti Abhiyan) mobile application (the “App”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information.

Nasha Mukti Abhiyan is a public welfare scheme of the Government of Punjab and is not a separate legal entity. This App is operated, managed, and provided by the Department of Governance Reforms, Government of Punjab, India, which is the legal service provider and data controller.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the App and fulfill official government program objectives.

1.1 Information You Provide

• User identification details: Name, official role or designation, phone number, and email address (where applicable).
• Program-related submissions: Descriptions, reports, photographs, videos, and documents submitted voluntarily for program implementation.
• Communications: Feedback, messages, and notes submitted through in-app features.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Device type, operating system version, and app version
• Application usage data and diagnostic information
• Crash reports and performance metrics

This information is used strictly for security, diagnostics, and performance improvement.

2. App Permissions

• Camera: Used only to capture program-related images or documents.
• Photo Library / Storage: Used only to upload existing program-related documents or images.

Permissions are requested only when required for app functionality. You may revoke permissions at any time via device settings; however, some features may not function without them.

3. How We Use Information

• To support implementation and monitoring of the Nasha Mukti Abhiyan scheme
• To generate internal reports for authorized government officials
• To facilitate coordination with authorized departments, including law-enforcement agencies where applicable
• To maintain application security, integrity, and reliability

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Information is processed in accordance with applicable Indian laws and government policies. Processing is carried out in the public interest, under official authority, and where applicable, based on user consent.

5. Data Sharing & Disclosure

Information may be shared only with:

• Authorized officers of the Government of Punjab involved in program implementation
• Authorized law-enforcement agencies for review and appropriate action, in accordance with law
• Government-approved service providers strictly for hosting, security, or technical support
• Authorities where disclosure is required by law

We do not sell, rent, or use personal data for advertising, marketing, or tracking purposes.

6. Data Retention

Information is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill official program requirements, auditing obligations, and legal compliance.

7. Data Security

Reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards are implemented, including access controls and encrypted data transmission. While strong protections are used, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. User Rights

• Access and review personal information held by the App
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion where permitted under applicable law
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended only for authorized adult users. The App does not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18 years of age.

10. Third-Party Services

The App may rely on third-party infrastructure for hosting or diagnostics. Such providers operate under strict contractual, confidentiality, and security obligations.

11. Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect legal or operational changes. Updates will be made available within the App.
